I'm turning into a bit of a weekend blogger. The week just goes by so fast these days though and Noemie hasn't been much of a napper lately so when she does go down for 30 minutes twice a day, I use that time to eat my meals or throw in a load of laundry. The good thing is though she goes to bed by around 6:30 for the most part so I get the evenings free so I either knit or scrap. This week it's been lots of knitting as I'm racing to get the santa outfit done. So far I've got the jacket back, 2 fronts and a sleeve and now half a hat finished. I want to finish the hat today, do the 2nd sleeve and get the jacket done tomorrow so all I need to do this week is the trousers. Scrapping has taken a bit of a back seat at the moment but hopefully I'll get back into that soon.
So, what's new with Noemie. She's started babbling, her current "word" is ba ba ba ba ba. She started doing this yesterday morning. On Thursday I noticed that whenever I talked to her she would open and close her mouth, so I thought she was telling me she was hungry as the first time was in her highchair while waiting for lunch. She continued doing it in her jumperoo, in her stroller...and there is no way she was hungry all the time. It's the cutest thing. I look at her and say "blah blah blah" and her little mouth opens and shuts like a fish or something. Then yesterday morning I noticed she was saying ba ba ba ba ba a lot. She would wake up from her nap and that's what I would hear on the monitor. This morning we woke up to that as well and it totally made Kirk's day.
We were on our way home from a walk yesterday and as we passed a crowded bus stop (with several old ladies) she suddenly screamed BA BA BA BA BA. Everyone burst out laughing, including her. Lucky we aren't in Japan as Baba means old lady and not in the nicest way. I made sure to call Kirk so he could hear her and then my Dad. My Mom was out and when she got home she called back but Noemie won't babababa on command. Oh, and her little voice is so sweet. Totally a little girl voice. I have a relatively deep voice (I think?) so she doesn't get it from me. I can't wait until she starts talking so we can hear more of that little voice. I seriously need to work out how to do a video and download it onto my blog.
Time to go and get stuff done. I woke up with a bad headache and found some of the super strong pain killers they gave me at the hospital after my c-section so I took one of those. It still took about an hour for the pain to go away but now it's gone, I better take advantage and get stuff done in case it returns.
