I can't believe it but Charlie turned two today. There is no way time has gone THAT fast right? I still remember the somewhat funny looking big baby boy who threw up just during and after just about each meal time most likely from over drinking. He wouldn't take no for an answer, some things don't change! The fella who slept through the night for 13 hours at 2 weeks old leaving his Daddy and I to cautiously look into his crib in the morning to make sure he was still breathing. He was a noisy sleeper so it didn't take long to figure out he was fine. The baby who loves his stroller and napped in it effortlessly, anytime and anywhere unlike his sister who would only sleep in her cot. He still loves his stroller and naps in it every afternoon even when we're at home. The little boy who was mesmerized by his sister and stared at her whenever she was in the same room. He still follows her around but stands his ground more and more and even will go so far as to smack her away from his toys.
He's a chatty little guy who's obsessed with Thomas the Tank Engine and all things train, car and plane related. Also thinks that Buzz Lightyear is way cool. He's super affectionate, really determined, and is a total morning person unlike his sister and I. Kirk tends to do fine at any time of the day. He loves his milk, fruit and the cat. He counts as he climbs the stairs though it's usually 1-5 then random numbers thrown in thereafter. He loves picking Noemie up at nursery and says hello to everyone and goes right into the class room and looks at stuff. He's starting nursery in January as he's more than ready. He sometimes poops in the bath, eats the bubbles in the bath and makes himself sick, loves his dummy at bedtime, still drinks his milk out of his bottle as he won't drink it if it's in a sippy cup. He has firm ideas of what he wants to do, has an incredible attention span especially when doing his much loved jigsaw puzzles each morning before Noemie wakes up and joins us. He can put about 8 pieces together now on his own, no help at all from anyone!
We had a nice day just hanging out. Noemie wrapped her gift to him this morning, in front of him of course, then she gave it to him and when he didn't understand about unwrapping it, she did it for him. She sang to him several times today, and we even sang to him with a cupcake with 2 candles which she got to blow out as he had no clue about that either. The good news is she'll get to do it all again on Sunday when my folks come over and we celebrate his birthday again!
Leaving you now with a video taken this afternoon of the new bubble blowing gun that we bought at Harrod's yesterday. Charlie has some serious dance moves going on! Notice his "2" shirt? Arrived in the mail yesterday from Nana. He's got a full year to enjoy it!
Happy Birthday Charlie xx
