I have loads of photos yet to be downloaded from our two week visit to the US. We spent a week on the Jersey Shore in Ocean City in a beach house that Nana rented for all of us. On the boardwalk N rode on rides just about everyday. C had fun digging in the sand though he is a bit scared of the ocean. We had a fun time despite the fact C ended up in the hospital for 36 hours or so due to a tummy bug that led to severe dehydration. Poor kid was on an IV drip and not very amused. At least it wasn't on the flight out or back and we were in good hands. The kids had 2 playdates with grandkids of one of Nana's friends. They came down to the shore for a day to visit with us which was a lot of fun. We visited with one of K's old college buddies and his family who were also down the shore about an hour away from where we were staying. We went swimming at the golf club once we were back at Nana's. We shopped a lot. We ate lots of yummy but really bad for you foods. It was super duper hot but totally okay as we had AC everywhere. And as always, a visit to the US reminded me so much about what I love and miss about living in the US. Friendly people, good service, inexpensive shopping.... the list goes on. It's always a bit deflating to come back to London especially as the unpacking/decluttering/tidying fairy appears to have gotten lost on her way back here. I've unpacked 4 out of our 8 cases so far but nothing has a home yet. Must get rid of lots and tidy up in order to make space for new stuff. We have another 5-6 weeks until the kids go back to school. Olympics tickets for various events, some of which I want to see but not all.
For now, I am off to start tidying up. And hoping we all sleep like normal people tonight rather than being up at all hours in the middle of the night. Gotta love jet lag. Not.
